Frequently Asked Questions

Members

  • How long am I committing for? Your commitment is for one calendar year, which is equal to four meetings, which is a total of $400 for the year. At the end of their calendar year, members may decide to re-join or may sit out if they so choose.  If something changes and you are unable to contribute at any point during the year, please let us know.
  • What if I can’t afford $100 every quarter? Get a team or a partner! You can form a team of up to 4 women. So – for a team of 4 members, that means each of you would contribute $25 every quarter, for only a total of $100 every year.  Email us at info@100womenpinellas.org to get a group commitment form.
  • If I nominate an organization and they don’t get selected, does that charity’s name stay in the “hat” for the next meeting? No, that organization would need to be nominated again on our website.
  • What’s the “catch”? There isn’t one! But if we had to say one, the only “catch” is if the non-profit you vote for doesn’t win, you still give $100 to the charity who received the most votes.  But can we really even call that a catch?! A local non-profit will benefit no matter what!
  • Are donations tax deductible? Nominated organizations will be 501(c)(3), which can provide donation forms for taxes. For women giving through our electronic platform through grapevine.org, that donation goes to Grapevine’s backend partner Social Good Fund, which is a 501c3. The tax receipt will have this information on it and will note the nonprofit where the funds will be directed.

Organization

  • How does my organization receive the winning funds?   We also accept payment through our safe, electronic giving platform at www.grapevine.org. Grapevine specializes in giving groups just like ours! You are welcome to set up an automatic payment subscription or pay on the website each quarter. Grapevine sends one payment to the charity. For anyone not present at the meeting who wishes to write a check (and who does not pay through Grapevine), checks should be be sent to: Mary Pat McLain at 555 5th Ave. NE #614, St. Petersburg, FL 33701
